Dr. Hopfauf is a born-and-raised Calgarian and one of the proud owners of Calgary Family Eye Doctors. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the University of Calgary, he headed to Ontario for the Optometry Program at the University of Waterloo. Upon graduation, Dr. Hopfauf was named Class Valedictorian. He has had the unique opportunity to further his training in ocular diseases in Houston, Texas and has studied specific conditions that include glaucoma, cataracts, dry eyes, and uveitis.
His experience in diagnosing and managing eye conditions has encouraged him to continue researching the latest advancements in eye care. This empowers Dr. Hopfauf to provide his patients with some of the most up-to-date treatment options currently available.
One of Dr. Hopfauf’s greatest joys is hearing details and updates of his patients’ lives; he loves nothing more than building relationships. Dr. Hopfauf volunteered with Project Homeless Connect and is a co-founder of the mobile OnSight Doctors clinic, which helps seniors in extended-care facilities.
Like most Canadians, Dr. Hopfauf spends his spare time watching and playing hockey or any sport.
